Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong to a Muslim Indian Kashmiri father Mohammed Kaif and a British mother Suzzane Turquotte. Her parents seperated when she was very young. At the age of fourteen Katrina began modeling. She continued modeling in London. It leads to become an actress in India. The London based filmmaker Kaizad Gustad gave her a part in his film Boom in the year 2003. Kaif moved to Mumbai and was offered a number of modeling assignments. However film makers were initially hesitant to sign her because she could not speak Hindi.
